Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Roger Angelo Inglese, 91, of Springtown, formerly of Bethlehem who passed away peacefully on Monday, March 13, 2023 with his loving daughter by his side at Phoebe Home, Richland. He was the husband of the late Josephine (Nosal) Inglese with whom he shared over 64 years of loving and happy marriage until her passing in 2017. Born on July 5, 1931, in Allentown, he was the son of the late Angelo and Carmela (Licini) Inglese. Roger was a graduate of Allentown High School, class of 1949 where he met the love of his life, Josephine at a school dance. He went on to graduate from Lehigh University, class of 1953 earning his degree in Mechanical Engineering. Upon his graduation from Lehigh, Roger and Josephine married and raised two daughters, Lois Ann and Karen Joan, until Karen’s untimely passing in 1992. 
 

Roger remained active in the Alumni Association at Lehigh University until his time of passing. In their younger years, Roger and Josephine were active members of the Bethlehem Jaycees. He honorably served his country in the United States Army. Roger was employed by PPL, Allentown office for over 40 years until retiring as the Director of Procurement in 1994. In his retirement, Roger became successfully engrossed in the stock market as an options day trader. He taught this skill to others, for the next 25 years. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, son, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend. 
 

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of St. Luke’s  Hospital, Phoebe Richland and St. Luke’s Hospice for their profound care to Roger. 
 

Survivors: He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Lois Ann Inglese Giamber and her husband Dr. Samuel R. Giamber of Springtown; Son in law Joseph M. Rice of Hellertown; granddaughters Jacquelyn Rose Febbo and her husband James and Elizabeth Mary Rice; great-grandchildren Karen Rose and Jack Thomas, whom he adored and many loving nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter Karen Joan Rice, brothers Louis Inglese and Theodore Inglese and his cousin and best friend Carl Licini. 
 

Services: Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Roger’s arrangements have been entrusted to the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, Bethlehem, PA. A memory tribute may be placed at www.cantelmifuneralhome.com.
