Mark J. Ferencin
May 25, 1967 ~ November 24, 2023 (age 56) 56 Years Old
Mark J. Ferencin, age 56, of Bethlehem, unexpectedly passed away on Friday, November 24, 2023, at St. Luke's Hospital in Fountain Hill. He leaves behind a legacy of love and commitment, having shared over a decade of marriage with his devoted wife, Angela (Scott) Ferencin. Born in Fountain Hill to Francis and Frances "Toot" (Belgrasch) Ferencin, Mark was a proud graduate of Bethlehem Catholic High School, Class of 1985.
Mark pursued a career in law enforcement, graduating from the Police Academy in 1988. Throughout his dedicated service, he worked with the Fountain Hill Police Department, the Prince George County, Maryland Police Department, and, until his sudden passing, the Lehigh University Police Department since 2004. Mark cherished building connections within the Fountain Hill and Bethlehem communities, echoing his father's legacy as the Mayor of Fountain Hill. His passion extended beyond his professional life; Mark was a PIAA Umpire, a self-taught golfer, and enjoyed dancing, trips to the shore, cheering for the New York Yankees, and quality time with his beloved wife and family.
He is survived by his loving wife Angela at home; parents Francis and Toot Ferencin and brother Brian Ferencin all of Fountain Hill, and mother-in-law Beatrice Scott of Willingboro, NJ. Mark is also remembered fondly by numerous cousins and friends.
