Lois A. (Hinkel) August

Lois Arlene August, 93, of Bethlehem, passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2023. She was the widow of Anthony F. August Sr. Born in Riegelsville, on January 11, 1930 she was a daughter of the late Floyd and Helen (Bortz) Hinkel. 

Lois worked for the former R.K. Laros and the former Jimjam as a seamstress for many years until retiring. She was one of the first women to gain support for running for Lower Saucon Twp., Council. Lois was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Bethlehem.

Lois will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Marie L. August; sons, Dennis A. August and wife Diane and James A. August and wife Kimla Cotropia; 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by son, Anthony F. August Jr; 3 brothers and 6 sisters. 

A funeral service will take place at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 in Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden Street, Bethlehem where the family will receive friends and relatives from 10:00A.M. until the time of service. Interment will follow at Holy Saviour Cemetery. A viewing will be held Tuesday, November 21, 2023 in the funeral home from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.
