Joan Elaine (Compton) Jones

Joan Elaine (Compton) Jones, 92, of Nazareth, passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2023. She was the widow of Paul Jones. Born on January 27, 1931, in Harrisburg, she was the daughter of the late Leon and Eleanor (Wheeler) Compton.

Joan graduated from Ursinus College with an Education degree. She was an Elementary School Teacher working for Perkiomen Elementary School, and Richboro Elementary School for many years. She later worked at Montgomery County Community College where she eventually retired. She was a member of the NEA (National Educators Association). Joan was a talented quilter, motorcycle, and horseback riding enthusiast, enjoyed traveling, canoeing, hiking, swimming and camping.

Joan and her husband Paul fostered many children over the years including Linda, Billy and Joe.
 

SURVIVORS: Joan will be remembered by her son, David Jones and wife Lori; daughters, Toni Miller, and Jodi Jones; daughter-in-law, Ruth Jones; grandchildren Tiffany, Kevin, Molly, Danette, Damon, Darci, Naomi, Clare, Jack, Sarah, Joline, Ruth, Jason and Elizabeth and several great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a son, James Jones and Grandaughter Abby.

SERVICES: Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, Bethlehem. A memory tribute may be placed at www.cantelmifuneralhome.com.
