Irene Josephine (Szczepanski) Lankay, 77, of Lower Nazareth Township, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 2, 2022 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Anderson Campus, surrounded by her loving family. She was the loving wife of the late Theodore J. “Ted” Lankay, Sr. Born in Newark, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Stanley John and Irene Olympia (Krolikowski) Szczepanski. Irene was a graduate of Union High School. She worked in Human Resources for Step-By-Step until retiring. Irene was a faithful member of St. Anne Catholic Church, Bethlehem. She enjoyed crocheting, watching cooking shows, playing card games, CandyCrush and all varieties of daisies. Above all, Irene loved her family and spending time with her grandsons.
Survivors: She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Theodore J. “Ted” Lankay, Jr. of Bethlehem; daughters, Cristina M. Lankay of Nazareth and Tricia B. Lankay and her wife Jennifer M. Major of Allentown; siblings, Bernice Pinter and her late husband Richard of Ormond Beach, FL, Regina Moeller and her husband Walter of Colonia, NJ and Stanley Szczepanski, Jr. and his wife Dora of Jacksonville, FL; grandsons, Alex, Connor, Adam Joseph and the late Noah as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 A.M. on Friday, July 8, 2022 at St. Anne Catholic Church, 450 E. Washington Avenue, Bethlehem, PA 18017. Calling hours will be held on Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden Street, Bethlehem, PA 18018 and also on Friday morning from 9 A.M. until time of the mass in the church.
