Daniel F. McMurtrie

Daniel F. McMurtrie, 74, of Fountain Hill, passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Bethlehem. He was the beloved husband of Connie (Petrie) McMurtrie with whom he shared over 53 years of loving marriage. Born on January 4, 1949 in Fountain Hill, he was a son of the late Thomas and Dorothy (Schimmel) McMurtrie.

Daniel was a 1966 graduate of Liberty High School. He worked for Bethlehem Steel in the weldment department for over 30 years. Daniel was a dear friend with a great sense of humor. He enjoyed gardening, volunteering at Fountain Hill Cemetery, and was an avid Philadelphia sports fan. Above all he cherished his time spent with his grandson, Augie.

Survivors:  Daniel will be lovingly remembered by his wife Connie; daughter, Nicole McMurtrie and fiancé Andrew Pudliner; grandson, Augie; beloved dogs. He was predeceased by son, Daniel Jason McMurtrie; siblings, Thomas, Lewis, James, and Melody.

Services: A viewing will be held on Thursday, May 25, 2023 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden St. Bethlehem. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, May 26, 2023 where the family will receive friends and relatives from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Fountain Hill Cemetery, Fountain Hill. A memorial tribute may be placed at www.cantelmifuneralhome.com.
