Obituary

Curtis W. Thieme, 88, of Fountain Hill, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 11, 2023 in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Joan E. (Seidenberger) Thieme to whom he was married for 57 years. Born in Fountain Hill, he was the son of the late Otto W. and Elizabeth M. (Miller) Thieme, and brother of the late Earl O. Thieme. Curtis was a graduate and highly regarded ball player of Fountain Hill High School, class of 1953.  He honorably served his country in the United States Navy. Curtis worked for the Bethlehem Steel Homer Research Center followed by Liberty Property Trust Lehigh Valley Corporate Center until retiring. He was a member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church and enjoyed his time with the Seniors Group and going on the monthly casino trips. He was a very outgoing individual and loved attending his grandsons sporting events and activities. He also enjoyed his monthly breakfasts with the old-timers mens basketball group from the area. Curtis was an avid golfer and sports fan, most notably a Philadelphia Phillies fan. 

 

Survivors: He will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by his son Robert C. Thieme of Fountain Hill and former daughter-in-law Judith Maloney of Bethlehem,  grandchildren Aaron Thieme and his wife Marissa (Varju) Thieme of King of Prussia and Kevin Thieme and his wife Emily (Smith) Thieme of Summerville, SC, and daughter Susan A. Thieme of North Wales. Also included in the family are son Brian J. Thieme and his wife Tina of Catasauqua and grandsons William Thieme, Joseph Thieme and Michael Thieme.  Also surviving are his brother and sister in-law Donald and Doris Seidenberger of Bethlehem and sister-in-law Lucille Seidenberger of Doylestown PA as well numerous loving nieces and nephews. 

 

Services: A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, September 25 at 11:00 am at Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden St. Bethlehem PA. The family will receive relatives and friends from 10:00-11:00am. Burial will be private at Holy Ghost Cemetery at a later date. A memory tribute may be placed at www.cantelmifuneralhome.com.
