Rose Marie Pompa, 89, of Jim Thorpe, died peacefully on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 in her home in the prayerful presence of family. Born in Palmerton hospital, she was the daughter of the late Edmund and Mary (McKeever) Parry. Rose was a graduate of Mauch Chunk High School. Rose shared her kind presence as she labored through the years for Bell Telephone, Brights Department Store, Kathy Ann Sportswear, The Inn at Jim Thorpe, and finally the County of Carbon until her retirement. Rose’s truest vocation was that as a Mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and kind soul friend to absolutely any who were graced by her presence. She was the center of her family’s universe. Rose was a voracious reader and devotee to the services of the Dimmick Memorial Library. She was a member of St. Marks and St. Johns Episcopal Church, Jim Thorpe
Survivors: She will be remembered by her sons James “Trooper” Pompa and his wife Michele, Scott Pompa and his wife Lisa, Robert Pompa, Jr. all of Jim Thorpe and Anthony “Tony” Pompa and his wife Felicia of Bethlehem Township; sister Marilyn Rontz (Skip) of Jim Thorpe; grandchildren James Jr. and his wife Brittney, Anthony (AJ), Kristin, Zak, Dillon and Bella and great grandchildren Lucas, Seth and Vivian. She was preceded in death by brother Edmund Parry and sister Barbara Kroculick.
Services: A Memorial service will be held Saturday June 17th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mark and St. John’s Episcopal Church 21 Race Street, Jim Thorpe PA (Public Parking lots surrounding) Calling hour 9:30-10:30 in Church, reception to follow in Great Hall.
