Leona G. Ziegenfus

    Leona G. Ziegenfus, 80, of Allentown, went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 12, 2010, after a courageous battle with cancer.  She was the wife of the late Paul R. Ziegenfus, who waits for her since 2001.

    Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Lila (Horlacher) Diehl. Leona was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Bethlehem, where she sang on the choir.  She was an avid bowler and Phillies fan. Leona was an important part of Avenue Motors with her husband and son for over 50 years.

    Survivors: son, Carlton L. Ziegenfus and his wife Sarah of Allentown; daughters, Barbara J. Weaver and her husband William of Allentown, Jill E. Lewis and her husband Kenneth of Bethlehem, Lori B. Phipps and her husband Norman of Neshanic Station, NJ, and Alice L. Tress and her husband David of Bethlehem; brother, Charles Diehl of Allentown; 15 grandchildren, Holly & Paul Ziegenfus, Brandon & Wesley Weaver, Katie Maringelli, Emily Rice, Heather & Abby Lewis, Meaghan, Alexander & Andrew Phipps, Bradley, Ryan, Tiffany & Scott Tress; 5 great-grandchildren, Carlee, Sydney & Paige Ziegenfus and Michael & Gabriella Maringelli.  Leona was preceded in death by her brother Alan C. Diehl who died in 2009.

    Services: Funeral services Saturday, March 20, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. in the Calvary Baptist Church, 111 Dewberry Ave, Bethlehem where friends may call from 9:00 until time of service in church with additional calling hours on Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. in the Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden Street, Bethlehem.
