Sydney B. Herlan

Sydney B. Herlan, 81, of Bethlehem, passed away Saturday, February 6, 2010, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Muhlenberg. 

    Born in Bethlehem, he was the son the late Stanley L. and Katherine (Lees) Herlan.  Sydney served in the US Army for 18 years and Marine Corps for 2.  He received a Vietnam service ribbon with 9 stars, 4 Medals of Commendation, and the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with one Palm during his 42 months of service in Vietnam.  He was also a chef at the Perkins Restaurant for 10 years until 1991, a member of the YMCA and Disabled American Veterans, and an Eagle Scout.

    Services:  Funeral service rescheduled to 2 PM Friday, Feb. 12, in the Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden Street, Bethlehem.  Calling time from 1:30PM Friday until time of services. Online condolences may be made at www.longfuneralhome.com
